Dimensioning

You can easily add custom dimensions using Dimension mode.

Creating a new dimension

Step 1 - Enable Dimension Mode

Insert a dimension by clicking + Create in the Actions Toolbar and choose Dimension or choose Dimension Mode from the Scene Toolbar. This will put you into Dimension mode.

Step 2 - Choose a start point for the Dimension

Click the snapping point where you would like to measure from. Intersection snaps also work for reference lines intersecting with other reference lines and member edges. The reference line hover effect is disabled in dimension mode.

Step 3 - Choose an end point for the Dimension

Click the snapping point you would like to measure to. Hovering over different points on a truss will activate different snaps.

Step 4 - Click the Save icon in the Scene Toolbar to save your dimension(s).

Deleting an existing dimension

Note

At this time, it is not possible to delete multiple dimensions at once or to select a specific dimension to delete. Instead, they will be deleted in order from newest to oldest.

Step 1 - Enable Dimension Mode

Choose Dimension Mode from the Scene Toolbar to enter Dimension mode.

Step 2 - Delete the newest user dimension

Keep clicking the Delete newest user dimension icon in the Scene Toolbar until you have deleted all of the desired dimensions.

Note

When you are done adding/deleting dimensions, be sure to toggle Dimension mode off. Click the Dimension Mode button again or press Escto exit dimension mode.
