# Analysis

## [Standard Analysis](/design/how-to/general/run-and-view-component-analysis.md)

A standard analysis runs analysis "checks" on the selected component. By default, it will respect all of the component's settings, generate an analog model, and apply the specified loading.

### Prototype Trusses

For prototype trusses, a standard analysis will upgrade member species and grades while respecting the component's Material Settings. Prototype trusses do not include plate data.

### Manufacturer Trusses

For manufacturer trusses, a standard analysis will upgrade member species and grades and plate types and sizes while respecting the component's Material Settings.

You can toggle some parts of this process using the component's Lock Options.

## [Detailed Analysis](/design/how-to/general/run-and-view-component-analysis.md#run-a-detailed-analysis-to-view-force-results)

This analysis records as much detail as possible while running the engineering checks. This takes longer but will provide additional insights about the Check Results. Running detailed analysis allows you to toggle `Display Forces` in the `Analysis and History` subpanel.

## Plate Unplated Joints

Choose whether you want all joints on the component to be automatically plated. Turn this off if Paragon is adding a plate to a joint that should remain unplated. This is enabled by default. To turn this off, you must first [lock plating](/design/how-to/general/plate-pairs.md#locking-and-unlocking-a-plate-pair) then disable Plate Unplated Joints.

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.paragontruss.com/design/explanation/analysis.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
