Sharing and Viewing Projects & Components

Welcome back! In this video, we’ll go over how to properly share and view projects in our software.
When collaborating with others, you might need to share your job with someone outside your organization. However, to prevent unintended modifications, you cannot simply share a direct job link. Instead, we provide a Share button that allows you to create a view-only version of your job, ensuring that the recipient can see everything but cannot make any changes.
To share a job, click the Share button and create a new Shared Set. Select the specific components you want to share—if you only want to share a particular component, check it here. Next, name the Shared Component Set. If you also want to share the layout, make sure to check this box, then click Share. Now, anyone outside your organization can access the shared set in view-only mode.
Once shared, you have several options: you can copy the link, download design drawings, email the shared component set, or request a seal or repair if the job has been approved or needs revision.
Keep in mind that if you make changes to your job after sharing a set, those updates will not be reflected in the existing shared version. The shared set captures the job exactly as it was when you clicked Share. If you want to include new changes, you’ll need to create a new shared component set.
If the job has been shared before, you can review its sharing history here. You can also access links, manage previous shared sets, or open a shared set from this menu.
Now, let’s try opening a Shared Component Set. As you can see, everything is in view-only mode, meaning no modifications can be made. This ensures that the job remains exactly as intended while being reviewed.
Now, if you want a copy of this job where you have the ability to edit and modify it, simply click this button. This will create a duplicate of the job that you can freely adjust without affecting the original shared version
That’s all for today! I hope you found this helpful. Thanks for watching, and see you in the next one!
