Feature Pattern Containers
Adding Feature Pattern Containers
Step 1 - Create Feature Pattern Containers
Begin insertion by clicking the + Create
button, right-clicking in empty space, or using the Ctrl + Q
keyboard shortcut and selecting Feature Pattern Container
Tip
You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Q+F
to quickly begin inserting a Feature Pattern Container.
Step 2 - Define Properties
Choose the Bottom and Top elevation in the subpanel to set the height of the container
Step 3 - Select your boundary segments and slope
Typically, these boundaries will be the "outside" bearing walls. You can modify the top or bottom slope if the project requires it.
Step 4 - Click Insert to finalize the container

Deleting Feature Pattern Containers
You can easily delete a container by right-clicking it and choosing Delete Container
or you can select the container in the right sidebar and choose Delete Container
Editing Container properties
All of the same options that are available during Feature Pattern Container insertion are also available after the container has been inserted. Simply make your desired changes in the right sidebar. Your container will automatically update.
Using Bounding Work Lines
In some cases, it is helpful to use Bounding
Work Lines to manually define the extents of Truss Envelopes during input. Truss Envelopes will not extend beyond a Bounding
Work Line when they are placed using Truss Runs.
