Feature Pattern Containers

Adding Feature Pattern Containers

Step 1 - Create Feature Pattern Containers

Begin insertion by clicking the + Create button, right-clicking in empty space, or using the Ctrl + Qkeyboard shortcut and selecting Feature Pattern Container

Step 2 - Define Properties

Choose the Bottom and Top elevation in the subpanel to set the height of the container

Step 3 - Select your boundary segments and slope

Typically, these boundaries will be the "outside" bearing walls. You can modify the top or bottom slope if the project requires it.

Step 4 - Click Insert to finalize the container

Deleting Feature Pattern Containers

You can easily delete a container by right-clicking it and choosing Delete Container or you can select the container in the right sidebar and choose Delete Container

Editing Container properties

All of the same options that are available during Feature Pattern Container insertion are also available after the container has been inserted. Simply make your desired changes in the right sidebar. Your container will automatically update.

Tip

To view a 3D Representation of your container, toggle the Use 3D Camera option in the scene toolbar and turn on the desired Render Mode.

Using Bounding Work Lines

In some cases, it is helpful to use Bounding Work Lines to manually define the extents of Truss Envelopes during input. Truss Envelopes will not extend beyond a Bounding Work Line when they are placed using Truss Runs.
