Feature Updates
Report a Problem
Added a Report a Problem option to the User dropdown. Users can now submit a bug report directly from the app that will reach Paragon's customer support team.
Break Walls and Beams
You can now right click over a Wall or Beam and select Add Break to split the wall or beam into multiple sections. Click again to place the break point, or specify a distance using the dimension box and press Enter to submit it.
Load Cases Generated for Manual Loads
Manual loads added by load type will now generate new load cases when no existing load case contains that load type. For example, when you add a roof live load to a truss with only floor loading, multiple roof load cases will be generated. Adding manual wind and rain loads to trusses that do not already have those load types is not yet supported.
All paid plans now include Additional Loads in Layout (Beta)
You can now draw area (psf), line (plf), and point (lb) loads directly in Layout, over the trusses they act on. Each load applies automatically to the component designs it covers when trusses are created or regenerated. Trusses do not yet pick up nearby loads, only loads that overlap them.

Team Plans Only
Additional Loads in Layout (BETA)
You can now draw area (psf), line (plf), and point (lb) loads directly in Layout, over the trusses they act on. Each load applies automatically to the component designs it covers when trusses are created or regenerated. Trusses do not yet pick up nearby loads, only ones that overlap them.
Redesigned Projects Workspace
Clicking a project now opens a drawer with Overview, Components, and Estimates tabs. The Components tab shows buildings, levels, and components as a tree with truss thumbnails, and bulk actions appear when you check rows.
All Plans
Redesigned Estimates with Live Preview
Creating an estimate now opens a full-screen workspace showing the customer quote itself instead of a configuration dialog. Prices and totals update live as you edit, and the generated PDF matches what you see. Each component row fills in its structural details and truss outline automatically.
Roof Plane Cutting Previews (BETA)
While cutting a roof plane, the resulting area is now shaded and updates in real time as you add cuts. Planes and edges you can cut against are highlighted, and hovering one previews the cut before you commit it. Hold Shift to cut along an edge instead of a plane.
Auto-Cut Roof Planes (BETA)
You now have the option to automatically cut roof planes against other planes as you insert them.
Attic Truss Tools (BETA)
Attic truss tools are now available to all paid users. The Attic shape, Attic Settings, and Attic Chase Settings are labeled [Beta] while we continue to refine them.
Documentation and AI Assistant in Design
Documentation and the AI assistant are now available directly within the app under the Ask a Question icon, so you can search the docs and ask questions without leaving the software.
Other Levels Stay Visible While You Draw
Other visible levels are now shown in grayscale during insertion and picking instead of being hidden, and you can snap to them. This makes it easier to trace walls and bearing envelopes from another level.
Unified Direction Input for Wall and Beam Insertion
Length, X, Y, Angle, and directions now share one panel during wall and beam insertion, with a live preview that follows your cursor. Values lock only when you type them, so tabbing through the fields no longer constrains the wall, and you can put in non-orthogonal walls without switching modes.
Minor Updates
Hovering a roof plane now shows its slope in the tooltip, so you don't have to select the plane to check it.
Profile generation now converts over-long double cuts on webs into single cuts, reducing the visible gaps against neighboring members that saw error can open up. This is most noticeable on low-slope trusses.
Load settings fields that previously required feet now accept architectural input and display in your dimension format. A number with no punctuation in these fields now means inches just like every other distance input.
A red notification now appears whenever changes fail to save, prompting you to reload the project, remove any invalid objects, and contact support if the problem persists. It stays visible until a save succeeds.

Documentation and Training Share a Single Upgraded Site
The Training Academy is now part of the Docs site at https://docs.paragontruss.com/training. With this integration, a single search now covers both Documentation and Training content.
Layout Performance Improvements
Switching from Design to Layout mode is significantly faster in large and multi-level layouts. Panning, zooming, and inserting things like truss envelopes have also gotten much more responsive on your biggest projects.
Material Details in IFC Exports
All IFC truss exports now include lumber and plate material details as custom property sets (Paragon Lumber and Paragon Plate), with labels matching Truss Design Drawings. Multi-ply trusses also now export with all plies when downloaded as a single component.
Minor Updates
Profile generation now creates diagonal webs with identical geometry more often, by re-anchoring evenly spaced inner chord joints so that the diagonal webs between them share the same shape
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where unlinked components were hidden from the Components panel while the level filter was set to "Visible Levels." Since unlinked components aren't assigned to a level, that filter no longer excludes them.

Automatic Hanger Bearing Detection at Bearing Faces
A truss envelope that stops at the face of a bearing will now generate a truss with a hanger bearing on its bottom chord.
Improved Work Line Creation
Users can now create multiple work lines more efficiently using in-scene workflows. Work lines can be created by selecting points or existing lines, with support for point-to-point, point-and-angle, parallel, perpendicular, and division line types. You can also specify which type of work line you'd like to create via the right sidebar and specify its properties in sequence. Toggle "Insert Automatically" or use the keyboard shortcut Alt when inserting to insert your line as soon as its defined and to remain in work line creation mode afterward.
Lock Carried Component Connections
Carried Component connections (e.g. jack-girder connections) can now be locked via the Properties panel. Locked connections will be maintained when you Refresh Connections or Regenerate Component in Layout.
Truss Label Placement Options
Labels can now be positioned on the left, center, center-left, center-right, or right side of a truss envelope. Selected label positions are also preserved in Layout PDF and DXF outputs.
Project Names in Design Browser Tabs
Design browser tabs now include the name of the project or shared set that is open in the tab.

Enhanced Snapping Controls and Interactive Editing
Interactive editing now supports snapping to any object that provides snap points, including underlays, roof planes, truss envelopes, walls and beams and other items. A new Snapping Settings menu has been added to the toolbar providing control over snapping behavior across editing contexts. Users can also disable grid snapping during interactive editing.
Added Component List Filtering
Added filtering controls to the Components panel, allowing users to view all components or unlinked components without having to toggle between Layout and Design view, and you can still filter based on the active level in Layout view.

Shift-Select to Select Range in Sidebars

Truss Envelope Insertion
Truss envelope ends will no longer be automatically calculated during insertion after you pick specific end points. Use the Recalculate buttons when you want the ends adjusted automatically, or adjust them after inserting the truss envelope using trim/extend or choosing new end points.
Control Plane Visibility While Cutting Truss Envelopes
You can now adjust the visibility of roof and ceiling planes while adding top and bottom cuts to truss envelopes. Changes you've made to your visibility settings before you start cutting will also be respected.

Improved multi-select dialog
If an object is already selected in Layout, the multiselect dialog will have that object's type selected by default. This makes it easier to select objects of the same type as the one you already have selected.

Visual Indicators for Bearings
