Create Truss Envelopes Using Snapping Distance

Streamline Truss Envelope placement by using Snapping Distance tools:

Automatic Snapping Distance

Step 1: Create Truss Envelope.

Step 2: Define Snapping Distance, for example: Automatic.

Step 3: Hover above a reference object and move mouse to preview Truss Envelope placement.

Note

When using Automatic Snapping Distance, Paragon predicts spacing distance options relative to a reference object and your mouse position. These are typically 2', 4', 6', etc.

Step 4: Click to place the Truss Envelope.

Step 5: Click INSERT.

User-Defined Snapping Distance

Step 1: Create Truss Envelope.

Step 2: Define Snapping Distance, for example: 4'.

Step 3: Hover above a reference object and move mouse to preview Truss Envelope placement.

Note

When using a user-defined Snapping Distance, Paragon restricts truss placement to the user-defined distance relative to a reference object and your mouse position.

It is possible to specify multiple snapping distances separated by a comma. (e.g., 3', 5', 7')

Step 4: Click to place the Truss Envelope.

Step 5: Click INSERT.

User Defined Snapping Distance & Lock to Base

Step 1: Create Truss Envelope.

Step 2: Define Snapping Distance, for example: 5'.

Step 3: Click to define the reference object and move mouse to preview Truss Envelope placement.

Note

When using Lock to Base and a user-defined Snapping Distance, Paragon restricts truss placement to the user-defined distance relative to locked, base reference object and your mouse position.

It is possible to specify multiple snapping distances separated by a comma. (e.g., 3', 5', 7')

Step 4: Click to place the Truss Envelope.

Step 5: Click INSERT.
